Waking up to a changed world

My husband left the house at 5am this morning. On his way out he whispered “Obama’s done it!”. That was it, I was awake and glued to the TV.

So - my very first post on this blog is on the day the world changed and got itself the first ever black American president. People all over the world are celebrating (our American employee brought us all donuts to the office today!) and for the first time in ages, there’s a feeling of real optimism and hope.

However - he inherits a truly enormous debt, a worldwide financial crisis, a world at war and a country where people are losing their homes left right and centre. His watchword ‘change’ cannot come at a better time. I truly hope the crushing financial situation allows him to follow through on his campaign promises. The only way is up!
